3rd Chapter, The Australian Connection

On top of St. Mary's Peek, Alex and his cousin Kevin talk about Alex father Tom. Kevin wants to tell Alex some thongs about his fathers life, he tries to describe the way he is, but these are not only nice things. As Alex hears some things, he is envious of his fathers new, happy family.
Why is life with this family so much better than life with Alex and his mum?

I don' really understand what the pgrase "... let him see how he likes it", so I'm not sure why he said so,but I can imagine that he is a bit defiant.
"he" is definetly Tom. Maybe he means it's exiting for him to see weather his father likes him or not?

hey^^

i think, that the sentence "let him see, how he likes it" means, that alex wants to show his father, how it could be, if the person you wait for isn't there.
because, when tom come home, alex still will be adelaide.

ähm ... that's what i can imagen
